    Why I built this

I failed the NCLEX twice before I passed. I know exactly what it feels like to blank out on acid-base, or to lose track of a priority question halfway through because the pressure crowded out everything I'd studied.

I'm Katie Nguyen, a registered nurse (BSN) and licensed educator (M.Ed.). I built MnemoNurse to teach the NCLEX the way I wish someone had taught it to me: through patterns and stories, not endless memorization.

Acidotic Andy, Embolic Emma, and the rest of the cast are how I finally made the hardest content stick — and they're the backbone of everything here.

    My story

From two failed attempts to a better way to study

I'm Katie Nguyen — a registered nurse with a BSN, and a licensed educator with an M.Ed. Before any of that, I was the student staring down the NCLEX, convinced that if I just read the textbook one more time, it would finally stick. It didn't.

I failed the NCLEX twice. The second time hurt more than the first, because I had studied more — more highlighters, more flashcards, more 3 a.m. sessions — and still blanked out on acid-base and lost track of a priority question halfway through. The problem was never effort. It was that memorizing facts one by one collapses the moment exam pressure shows up.

So I changed how I studied. Instead of a list of values, I gave every hard concept a character and a story: a patient you could picture, with signs you could recognize and a reason behind every choice. When I sat for the exam the third time, I wasn't recalling facts — I was remembering people. That's the attempt I passed.

MnemoNurse is that method, built out. Acidotic Andy, Embolic Emma and the rest of the 158 characters are how the hardest content finally stuck for me — and they're the backbone of everything on this site.

    How this helps you

Everything here follows the path that worked: meet the character, remember the story, practice it with real NCLEX-style questions, and master it with full rationales for every option. As a licensed educator, I built the study materials the way I'd teach a classroom — clear patterns first, drill second, understanding always.

If you've failed before, you're not behind — you're exactly who I built this for. Study the way I should have from the start.

About MnemoNurse — Your NCLEX Study Partner

MnemoNurse launched in 2026. We're new — but built by an actual RN and licensed educator, not a faceless company. Every question, rationale, and mnemonic character here was created by someone who's actually sat for the NCLEX, failed it, and passed it.

MnemoNurse is an NCLEX preparation system built around mnemonic characters and story-based learning. Memorable characters teach each difficult nursing concept, the Recall Binder keeps them organized for review, and thousands of NCLEX-style questions with detailed rationales reinforce what you learned — across cardiology, pharmacology, respiratory care, pediatrics and more.

Our mission is to make high-quality NCLEX practice accessible, effective, and easy to use. Each question is designed to mirror real exam scenarios, helping users strengthen critical thinking and clinical judgment.

With personalized quizzes, topic-based practice, and clear explanations, MnemoNurse helps you identify weak areas, improve retention, and build exam readiness. Whether you are just starting your NCLEX journey or reviewing before test day, MnemoNurse gives you the tools to succeed.

    Why We Are Different

MnemoNurse goes beyond memorization. We train you to think like the exam — breaking down each question to uncover what's really being tested so you can answer with clarity and purpose.

But knowledge alone isn't enough. We focus on building the mental toughness and self-belief you need to walk into test day feeling ready. With MnemoNurse, you don't just learn the material — you develop the critical thinking and confidence to prove it when it counts.
